This divine, pastel pink living room is giving Barbie movie vibes.

Welcome to your first Pinch of Colour post over here at Waratah Avenue!

I’m creating my own colour-obsessed magazine right here and am excited to share all the wonderful designs and elements I can find. Featuring both interiors and fashion, I will help you discover your inner maximalist, focusing on products available in and around Canada.

You’ll also get to know my own home as I launch into Project Colour, a complete redesign of each and every room with colour and pattern. Each month, I’ll choose a room to feature from one of my design heroes and share how I would go about recreating the space as well as all the fabulous finds I stumble across along the way.

Are you ready? Let’s jump in.

You may already know that I’ve developed a taste for pink in my adult life. I even wear hot pink glasses every day. I’ve started with a wonderful pink space, partly inspired by the launch of the Barbie movie with it’s shot in the arm of pink nostalgia.

As a huge fan of bold colour choices, I’ve been a follower of Jess and Rick’s house for a while now. They turned their bland 1930s home in the UK into a pastel masterpiece.

While there is colour and pattern in every corner of their home, the vibe is still calm and cohesive. Their living room is my favourite space, with that adorable blue fireplace!

Check out the rest of their place over at The House That Colour Built.

Truly, the prettiest pink space.

Such a lovely collection of art to match.

The perfect spot for spring flowers.
