The Heretical Society of the Gilded Curve
The 1920s was an era steeped in mysticism and a fascination with the occult. Secret societies emerged from the shadows and women were often invited to participate. The release of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck in 1909 heavily influenced this Golden Era of spiritualism. The severe silhouette of the Edwardian years was replaced by a flowing, softer style, allowing for freedom of movement which mirrored the newfound freedom felt by many men and women of the day.
Despite this loosening of waistlines, mindsets and morals, many were still excluded and continued to exist in the shadows.
At Waratah Avenue, we believe that fashion should seek to be more inclusive.
Join us as we journey through this magical era in search of a more inclusive, ethical fashion collection.
